Hello internet peoples!

So hi,

Long time no typey, I figured it would be good to let everyone know what's up with me. I am now done with school. That's right, trainee no longer, I am a fully fledged veterinarian! Scary thought.

I am back in the States and more or less settled. Currently living with the bf and child in Olympia and I'm hoping to pick up a job in the immediate vicinity soon. So I don't run out of money and the student loan people don't have to come break my knees.

In other news, I hacked off all my hair about 1 1/2 years ago, it is now about ear length. Still unremittingly blonde, though. I'm on Facebook now if y'all need to see pics.

So, that's me. Hope the cloudy PNW weather is keeping everyone cool.

Ta,
Monie

Meme from Vampireelf, slightly less energy intensive than others floating about.

Please leave a one-word comment that you think best describes me -- it can only be one word long. Then copy and paste this in your journal so that I may leave a word about you.

So I got my tongue pierced today. It is cool, in the middle and all. Doesn't hurt that much, not really, just pain if I move it or knock it. Makes it a bit difficult to talk but more 'cause I don't want to bump it than from lasting pain.

So, because I'm supposed to be studying for my very important exam next week... OMG That autosave thing is so freaky! Stop it!

Umm, yeah.
My tarantula molted last week, which was awesomeness. However, she broke a fang on the way out and now is known by Ole' One Fang. She has yet to eat, which makes me all nervous. On the upside she's built this really cool web that's only attached to the side of her jar, kinda in a half tube shape.

In other news, I have a new phone because my dad is stealiing mine. Kinda, more of a "Here, take it!" moment due to it's bigness. The new one is nice, not as nice as the $200 phone I wanted but I figured that just might push my dad's buttons (he's paying for the phone-age).

To the studying!

I am meme'd.

Tell my children I love them and to avenge my memeing for the sake of my name. Us of the meme'd will convene on the other side and plot ways to return and haunt our memeor.

Wo betide those who meme without just cause...

Anyways, back to your regularly scheduled friend's list.

10 things that make me happy:
1. Knowing my friends and family are happy and safe.
2. Making my room into a den, which I only leave for food and other necessities (like class).
3. Learning super-exciting things like tapeworm lifecycles (well, not really, but I try really hard to be happy about it).
4. Having an entire afternoon that I can waste as I please and not feel guilty.
5. Having new things to read.
6. Knowing my rattie girls are having fun.
7. Being warm.
8. Having green, growing things near.
9. Smoked salmon and cream cheese on a bagel.
10. Nachos.

I will then tell what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. If I were to apply an o'clock to you, it would be...
4. I will try to name a single word that best describes you.
5. I'll tell you the most memorable moment I've had with you.
6. I will tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll then tell you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. Seriously.

3) The last film I watched:
Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy. If I thought about it for a bit more I'm sure I could rustle up two more, but I should study.

5) Tag 5 people and have them put this in their journal:
Err, they all seem to have done it.
I'm coming home weekend after next!!!! EEEEE!!!! So excited!!!! I must tell everyone on the planet, I'm going to see me boyfriend in 10 days!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I was silly and bought cheap plane tickets home over the long weekend. But only 'cause he gets a long weekend as well. I don't need to eat in June, really, I live on sunlight and water like my plants. Or I'll just sponge horribly off of everyone in the house and eat only peanut butter and ramen. I really do have enough to cover rent, I wouldn't be silly enough to not have that.

Did I mention I'm going to see my boyfriend in 10 days? EEEEEEE!!!

Wee, wonderful winds all of today and continuing through the night. They are fun to listen to, not so fun to watch the construction crane creak back and forth, you know, towards my window and back again.

I am doing well, I'll be home in less than two weeks, WOOOOO!!!!

And, I am seeing the Red Hot Chili Peppers on Friday. So awesome, in every way, really. Even if it's pouring down rain it will still be cool, but I hope it isn't raining. We're in the Gold Section, which is up front and close. I think we're planning on squeezing up to the front. Awesome, awesome.

Almost done with the school thing, just down to the oral examinations. Even my report thingie is done, I just need to turn it in. We have to sign it in at Registry, very odd.

The bed calls with it's warmth and softness.

They suck in such a way that I would kill them all without looking at them just to get the irritation out of my hair.

Guess what? This morning they've decided to tinker with the network-wide internet access and DISABLE JAVASCRIPT. This wouldn't have been a problem 5 years ago, but now EVERY website uses it. BOTH my school-independant e-mails have a JavaScript base and without that I can't even see the bloody page. Network won't even load the initial cookies.

Isn't this spectacular? Isn't my IT dept the best in the world for protecting it's student and staff population from the evils of JAVASCRIPT?!?! God Damn it.

Yeah I'm back in town, wooo, have been for almost a week but am all sorts of non-communicative. I feel like shit due to the 24 hour stomach flu thing I had yesterday. It was weird, but it seems to be over so I won't complain. Though I'm still feeling a lil out of it. Don't want to do anything. Bleh.

Just finished Dracula again. Interesting book, the formats a little hard to follow. As much as I like Van Helsing I really didn't like the pages and pages of him talking, the accent began to grate after awhile.

Time to do something, maybe something useful.

I should go to bed early and wake up early, much more condusive to getting things done than this to bed late, get up late I've been doing recently. And break is going to suck 'cause that's waking incredibly early for two weeks.

Argh, I don't feel like doing anything, vegging out in fron tof the computer seems good. But I have work. And I need a shower. I should do that.

A mini-rant brought to you by me. Sparked off in my head by Vampireelf, no really, this is all her fault.

I read a review on an autobiography of the 3rd guy in on the discovery of the double-helice in DNA. He was in the background and not photogenic, thus the popular opinion that there's only 2 scientists responsible for the discovery. Anyways, a woman scientist was also working on the problem and was really touchy about sharing her work, didn't want her male cohorts even looking at it, let alone interpreting it. The guy has the audacity to imply that it's her fault that women scientists weren't encouraged, because she didn't help with the final discovery, due to her prickliness.

Excuse me?!? It is very typical for scientists (especially physicists) to be antisocial and fairly awkard. And he has the nerve to say that because she wasn't easy enough to work with that women scientists weren't accepted by the general scientific community sooner. Sorry dude, that perception is due to your chauvinistic attitudes and the fact that you probably treated her like a lackey. Women don't need to bend to your wishes and make you feel accepted any more than your male colleuges do.

Stupid idiots.

Yucky drinks

Never try vodka and black currant juice. Those are my words for this month. And being tipsy means that sensations are numbed and your motions are slightly exagerated, more so you notice than others. And you have a lil more energey or get very sleepy.

Definitely running tommorrow.

Ok, so I thought I left an update yesterday, guess I did something weird.

Back in Britain now, wonderful flight back, involved sitting at the terminal for an extra hour and a half while the plane was de-iced. Oh yeah, with the air conditioning off. Some weird rule required them to turn it off while the plane was deiced so it got to a toasty 90 degrees in there. Then, when we landed, they didn't do something right and the exit ramp started to move when people exited. Another bout of waiting, that one was only 15 minutes.

Fortunately for my sanity, Immigrations was great. Only a 10 minute wait, then I was out and able to pursue my luggage. Had way too much of it, of course, so I took a taxi. I even left some stuff at home, nothing necessary.

Ugh, I need something to do that doesn't require brain power. My brain woke me up at 5am so I've been awake for an obsenely long amount of time for Saturday. And I need to stay up to my standard bedtime, otherwise I'll never adjust.

Pants!

I have been sewing all day. Almost 12 hours of sewing for one pair of pants. It wan't worth it until I put them on, they are comfy and warm and big and comfy. Makes up for my fingers hurting from many many needle/pin jabs.

Looking forward to tommorrow, same thing different pattern. Woo! Sewing! This next pair will have stars on them.

Why the hell is pants plural? It doesn't make any sense. The English language sucks.

It's Alive!

Yay! My computer works again! Left my power cord at school so I had a very expensive paperweight sitting on my desk here for two weeks. But my daddy rescued me, bought me a new one (also works in autos and airplanes). It's really tiny for a converter. Also now have a carry case for my laptop, it's supposed to be a tool bag but it works for my computer too. Says Craftsman across the front, maybe it'll fool those laptop thieves.

I am happy.

My sister is obsessed. All the gifts she gave me are from the mall, 6 from Hot Topic and one from another store (forget which one). She didn't spend that much, they're all small, but still! Enough with the Hot Topic shopping! She is being aided and abetted by her boyfriend's family, they gave her a $75 gift card there. Granted, that really doesn't buy much there (they be expensive).

My parents gave me the Sims for Christmas. Kinda ambivalent about that, wasn't that interested in it in the first place. Maybe they want me to be normal.

Rain

It rains today, in that peculiar style of the Seattle area. Light grey skies, clouds so high you can't distiguish them, but still pouring out a decent amount of rain. Ahh well, makes for more light through the windows.

Yay! I'm home! I'm being all creative and stuff, sewing is good. I'll definitely have to bring more crafty stuff to school after break.

Hopefully, I won't get a bunch of bulky presents for christmas. I only have so much room in my luggage and I've already been buying things (books) that I'll want to bring back. I'm silly like that.
